Ooh Yes I Do! The Gay & Lesbian Wedding Planner
The ultimate gay and lesbian wedding planner includes everything one needs to plan a civil union or wedding.
Read about estimating the costs, planning your ceremony, discussing the surnames, choosing a suitable venue, picking a colour theme and how to personalise your special day. The book also includes information about civil unions and same-sex marriages anywhere in the world and it features stunning photography by Hannah Brackenbury.
You may want to use one or more ideas, or all of them. It's your special day, so let's get started!
'Ooh Yes I Do!' would make a great gift for same-sex couples who are planning to enter into a civil union or getting married.
Since the self-published release through CreateSpace I have been interviewed by Pink News's Patrick McCormick for the feature 'Say ‘Ooh Yes I Do’ to the comprehensive, must-have gay wedding planner'. Jennifer Rigby interviewed me for Channel 4's 'We are so gay - Planning a same-sex wedding' to celebrate the introduction of equal civil marriages in the UK and Pink Weddings Magazine published and interview about my wedding to Michael.
The book launch party in 'Waterstones Brighton' featured in Brighton's 'Latest Magazine' and 'Pink Weddings Magazine'.
The book has been included in the LGBT library of 'Pride Books' & 'Gay Directory' and also features on the 'AboutTheAuthor' website which was established by entrepreneur Richard McMunn. I am also very proud that the book featured in the latest 'Brighton & Hove Wedding Brochure'.
Author of 'Ooh Yes I Do!'
Welcome to my website. My book 'Ooh Yes I Do!' the gay & lesbian wedding planner was self published through CreateSpace in November 2013.
I was born and bred in Utrecht (The Netherlands) and when I was 30 years old I moved to the United Kingdom in 2001. Six years later I met my husband Michael at a Eurovision Song-contest Party. It was love at first sight and we are still happily married.
In my free time I love to travel, visiting art exhibitions and museums, theatres and I do some photography. I also like socialising with family and friends.
Alongside writing a book I have made some paintings, I maintained and administered websites and I did Press and PR work for several years.
Looking back I noticed that I always had a passion for being creative and it's great that I have met a husband who is as equally creative as I am.
For example, a lot of creativity was put into our wedding. It took us nearly a year to plan it. So in December 2011, three months after our wedding, I decided to start writing a wedding planner for same-sex couples.
It's been a very exciting time to write a book especially without a biro and paper. Instead, I used my iPad, a wireless keyboard and the app Book Creator.
I hope you will enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it.
